Local agriculture has had a wonderful impact on the growth and development of our Wichita Falls community. Here at Wichita Falls Ford, we want to encourage the support of our local farmers and artisans. One of the ways you can help support local farmers is by shopping at the Wichita Falls Farmers Market. So the next time you’re grocery shopping, make sure to grab your fresh produce from the farmers’ market.
The Downtown Farmers Market is Open Year Around
If you don’t know already, the Wichita Falls Farmers Market is located in the downtown area on Ohio Avenue. The current location has been the meeting place of community members and the local farmers supplying them with fresh veggies and fruit for over 40 years. The market is a piece of Wichita history. The facility was designed as an adaptation of the Union Passenger Station that was originally built in 1910. In 2012, it was taken over by the Downtown Wichita Falls Development. Now our community gets to enjoy the Wichita Falls Farmer’s Market all year long.
The Diverse Wichita Falls Farmers Market Vendors
The central location in the downtown area is appealing to a diverse group of vendors, artisans, and farmers from all over North Central Texas. When you visit, you’ll find bakers, herb growers, organic farmers, and more. One interesting vendor you should check out is NaNa’s Salsa & Cactus Jelly. This unique vendor has been canning delicious salsas, jellies, and pickles since 1975. The owner also makes baked goods such as bread, cookies, and muffins.
