The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is powered by two electric motors and all-wheel drive. The motors combine to generate 453 horsepower with the Standard-Range battery, while the Extended-Range battery increases the horsepower to 580. Torque is listed at 775 pound-feed with either option.

The Lightning is capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds with the optional Extended-Range battery. The Standard-Range battery can haul up to 7,700 pounds. The Lightning has a payload capacity of 2,000 pounds for the Standard-Range battery and 1,800 for the Extended-Range battery.

Charging and Battery Life

The 2022 Lightning can stick to the road without charging for several hundred miles. Owners can charge their Lighting at home through 110- and 220-volt outlets. The Lightning can also be charged at public fast-charging stations. It can charge from 15 percent to 80 percent in around 40 minutes. The Lightning can also be used as a backup generator with a supply of up to three days.

The 2022 Lightning comes standard with a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen. Additional standard features include navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay®, USB connectivity, power outlets, a powered hood, vinyl upholstery, and manually adjustable front seats, among others.
